Social Status and/or Occupation: Only child of a French nobleman Belief physical description of your character: Take one look at Melisande, and most would presume her your average noble girl. At little more than 5' she appears almost child-like to most. It's really only when she opens her mouth to speak that one would realize she isn't a teenager and then might feel more inclined to notice her perfectly curled chestnut hair or her predominant cheek bones. She's really quite lovely to look at. She always dresses fashionably, not because she particularly likes clothing, but because it's what is expected of a woman of her status. Brief description of your characters history, including family: The Auclair family was a noble family going back many generations in France. It is said that Melisande's great great great grandfather was a close friend of Henry IV, a fact not proven, but also not doubted. When Melisande was born, her mother nearly died. There were several complications, but in the end both mother and child survived. For this Monsieur Auclair was greatful, but he wanted a son, someone to carry on his family name, and as much as they tried the Auclair's could not conceive another child. Because of this, Monsieur Auclair, told his daughter, she should make them particularly proud. Melisande tends to just the opposite though. The pressure of being the perfect was a lot for a young girl to handle and she's often getting herself into trouble. By day Melisande does her best to please her family, she studies, and charms men, but when no one is looking she can be found socializing with the lower class and listening to the ramblings of revolutionaries. At 21, Melisande has gotten quite old, her father is pressuring her to marry, but she's ran off every suitor who's come her way so far, and has every intention of holding out for someone who she truly loves. | |||||||||
